Andrew Garfield Says Studio Cuts Damaged 'Amazing Spider-Man 2,' Alex Kurtzman Talks Venom
fb.indiewire.com “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” – the second entry into the Andrew Garfield reboot of the early 2000s franchise – didn’t swing to great heights this summer. Reviews were generally lukewarm at best, and box office returns were far lower than what Sony brass had hoped for. The film opened with $91.6M and managed to cobble together close to $203M domestic (of a $708M global total), which might not seem so bad, until you put it in perspective.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Synopsis and Credits

We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2™, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" stars Andrew Garfield, B.J. Novak, Chris Cooper, Colm Feore, Dane DeHaan, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, and Shailene Woodley.

Bruce Lee needs no introduction, but no one should mistaken the Martial Arts screen legend for our own brucelee. For some unknown reason, he despises Chinese spareribs.
