Warner Bros. has acquired feature film rights to the popular video game “Minecraft,” which boasts 100 million users worldwide, an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap. Roy Lee (“The Lego Movie”) will produce under his Vertigo Entertainment banner along with Jill Messick. Warner Bros. executive Jon Berg will oversee the live-action project for the studio.
